Don’t look now, but it’s nearly August! Where did the summer go? With one month left, there is still plenty of time to enjoy with your kids before the focus will shift from summer to back-to-school. Here are 10 family-fun things to do before summer ends:
Hit The Lake
Lake Lavon, like Wylie, is located within Collin County. Not only can you get out on the water, but you can also relax on the beaches, camp, hike, bike, and enjoy other outdoor activities among the lush green grass and trees. If you want even more lake, consider Lake Ray Hubbard in the neighboring Rockwall. Enjoy the great lake front views as you stroll along the harbor or have a delicious lunch or dinner with great lake views.
Take a Road Trip
The wonderful thing about North Texas is that there are plenty of great options for a weekend getaway! If you’re looking to take the kids somewhere within just a few hours, consider Austin, TX. There’s Hamilton Pool which features an incredible view and a natural slide or visit Barton Springs Pool to lay out and enjoy some cool water!
Catch a Ballgame
When the summer heats up, so does baseball season! Globe Life Park in Arlington is located in the center of the DFW Metroplex and is easily accessible via 121 to 360 or I30. The Texas Rangers currently sit in first place and have nearly 70 games still to play. If you don’t want to make the journey to Arlington, consider the minor-league affiliate, Frisco RoughRiders. The RoughRiders play at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, TX located directly off of the Dallas North Tollway. Games are filled with fun activities to keep the kids entertained and feature a lot of future MLB talent.
Summer is almost over, but the fun doesn’t have to end! Bozman Farms, located in Wylie, TX is perfectly located to easily get around the DFW Metroplex. There are also a lot of great amenities within the master-planned community that make it easy to enjoy a day with the family without leaving the neighborhood!
