Taste of Wylie

Taste the best food in Wylie from numerous local restaurants during the Taste of Wylie! Along with a variety of food, Taste of Wylie includes a silent and live auction of great items and gift packages. All proceeds benefit the Wylie Christian Care Center.

Ticket Prices:
$10 for advanced purchase, $12 at the door
Seniors over 65 $8
Children 6 and over $5 Children under 5 free

Pedal Car Race

Registration begins at 1 pm; race time is scheduled for 2 pm.

Children Ages 2-5
$10 Entry Fee – day of race only
Cash or check only

During Wylie’s annual Pedal Car Race, kids select a unique car of their choice that has been provided and decorated by local merchants and race down Ballard Avenue in heats of six. The $10 entry fee includes a T-shirt, and proceeds benefit area Special Olympics and historic downtown Wylie beautification.

Ballard Ave. (Hwy. 78 to Brown St.) & Olde City Park

Historic Downtown Wylie will indeed be wide awake for this free festival featuring top bluegrass bands, a 200+ car show, 100+ arts and crafts, great fair food and children’s activities. A day of fun for the whole family!

Bring your instrument and jam with other musicians on the street or in shops and restaurants throughout the day. Don’t forget your lawn chairs or blanket to enjoy a summer evening with great bluegrass bands in shady Olde City Park.
